Ten Gigabit optical network is the upgrading and evolution direction of the next generation optical network, and is an important part of the new information infrastructure. At present, new services and new applications continue to emerge, which puts forward the demand for optical networks with greater bandwidth, lower latency, and higher reliability, and it is urgent to accelerate the evolution of gigabit optical networks to 10-gigabit optical networks.
The notice clearly states that in key scenarios such as communities, factories, and parks, the pilot of ten gigabit optical networks will be carried out to realize the deployment and application of 50G-PON (passive optical network) ultra-wide optical access, FTTH (fiber to the home) /FTTR (fiber to the room) collaboration with the 7th generation wireless local area network, high-speed and large-capacity optical transmission, and the integration of optical networks and artificial intelligence.
The relevant person in charge of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the pilot work will be guided by the strength of all parties in the industry to promote the construction of a mature industrial chain and a complete industrial system of the ten Gigabit optical network, and orderly guide the ten Gigabit optical network from the technology pilot gradually to the deployment and application.
