Current situation of optical fiber and cable industry

In recent years, China's optical fiber and cable industry has made remarkable progress in technological innovation and industrial upgrading, strengthened the research and development of optical fiber prefabrication technology, ultra-low attenuation optical fiber, multi-core optical fiber and other fields, and achieved the popularization of gigabit optical network and the new breakthrough of "ten gigabit set off".
The upstream industry chain of optical fiber and cable industry mainly includes optical fiber prefabricated rod, optical fiber coating, optical fiber beam tube material, polyethylene, quartz pipe and production equipment. The upstream industry is the key to ensure the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain. The middle reaches of the industrial chain are mainly the manufacturing of optical fiber and cable. Among them, the total output of Changfei, Hengtong, Zhongtian, Fiberhome four enterprises reached 170 million core kilometers, accounting for 48.6% of the national production, accounting for 30.4% of global production. These four companies are also ranked among the top four in the world.
